Warning
Children and teenagers who have or are recovering from chicken pox or flu should not use this medicine to treat vomiting or nausea. If vomiting or nausea is present, consult a doctor because this could be an early sign of reye syndrome, a rare but serious illness.
Do not take this product if you are allergic to salicylates including acetylsalicylic acid (asa) or taking other salicylate products.
Do not use if you have:
- An ulcer
- A bleeding problem
- Bloody or black stool
- Ask a doctor before use if you have: FeverMucus in the stool
When taking tetracycline antibioticsIf taking medicines for anticoagulation (thinning of the blood), diabetes, gout or arthritisIf pregnant or nursing. May cause temporary but harmless darkening of tongue or stool. If symptoms of upset stomach worsen, recur or persist for more than two weeks, consult a physician. Stop use and ask a doctor if:Ringing in the ears or loss of hearing occursIf diarrhea is accompanied by a high fever, worsen or continues for more than 2 days. Directions
Shake well before using. For convenient dosing, use pre-measured dose cup. Adults: Lot exp 30 ml (2 tablespoons). Children: 10 to 14 years: 15 ml (3 teaspoons), 5 to 9 years: 7.5 ml (1 teaspoons), 3 to 4 years: 5 ml (1 teaspoon). For children under 3 years, consult a physician. Repeat above dosage every hour as needed to a maximum of 8 doses in a 24-hour period. Do not exceed 8 doses in 24 hours. Drink plenty of clear fluids to help prevent dehydration, which may accompany diarrhea. Do not take continuously for more than 2 days for diarrhea and more than 14 days for upset stomach except under the advice and supervision of a doctor. Use dose cup or tablespoon (TBSP). Adults and children 12 years and over: 1 dose (30 ml or 2 TBSP) every 1/2 to 1 hour as needed. Do not exceed 8 doses (240 ml or 16 TBSP) in 24 hours. Use until diarrhea stops, but not more than 2 days. Children under 12 years: Ask a doctor. Drink plenty of clear fluids to help prevent dehydration caused by diarrhea.
